Will Trent the TV show is based on the Will Trent book series by Karin Slaughter that stars Ramón Rodríguez as Trent, a brilliant special agent with the Georgia Bureau of Investigations who endured a painful and difficult childhood in the foster care system. He has a smart and savvy new partner, Faith (Iantha Richardson), a best friend who is also his on-again, off-again lover Angie (Erika Christensen), and a newly adopted stray dog Betty who steals every scene she is in.
