Trend I Love: Writers as Bookstore Owners
Most writers harbor a secret dream to one day open their own indie bookshop where they’ll chat with smart and engaged readers, read new titles and solve crimes while drinking tea (c’mon, that sounds fun, right?).
So I got a thrill seeing a photo of Judy Blume hand-sell books out of Books & Books Key West, the bookstore in Florida that she cofounded with her husband. She’s already a publishing icon and a role-model for so many for her brave and wise writing, now she’s a role model again for her support of books and indie bookstores.
