Food allergy awareness for Halloween

The-Teal-Pumpkin-Project

Every Halloween I try to offer a treat that’s free of at least most of the top allergens, like Ring Pops (a crowd pleaser, btw) but an even cooler way to be allergy-aware is this year’s big push from the food allergy community: the Teal Pumpkin Project. Houses that want to participate will paint a pumpkin blue to show they’ve got non-food treats on hand, like little toys or stickers or something. I’m going to try to get it together to do this … and I’ll definitely be on the lookout for blue pumpkins as we walk around the ‘hood.
