Food pantry for food allergic families

Buying alternative foods for a food allergic family member can be costly. The soy/coconut/etc. milk costs more than regular old dairy, the snacks like granola bars or top 8-free cookies are pricey, and don’t get me started on the jars of nut-free peanut butter substitutes, which are triple that of good old Jif.

We’re extremely fortunate that paying for our kid’s special meals and ingredients was doable for us, but for many families, it’s not. So it’s amazing that these moms created the first-ever food pantry for people with celiac disease and food allergies, called ReNewed Health. Based in Overland Park, Kansas, anyone who comes to the pantry with a doctor’s note or lab results showing them or their child has a medical need for the foods is welcome.
